A sample scene from the play
Prologue:
(Athens 1970)
(At the morgue of a hospital. A Policeman takes a man inside. The man is shown a decaying body)
Man (Closing his nose with his hands): Who is this? Oh Please…let me go…
Inspector: (Closes the body) Well, We don’t know who he is…The dead man had several phone numbers written in this booklet that was in his wallet. One of it was yours. So far, all the others whom we called using these numbers have failed to identify him. His body has decayed beyond recognition…These pair of broken glasses were however found near him…the only clue we have in this case. Take a look at it and tell me if it rings a bell in your mind.
Man (takes the broken pair of spectacles from the Inspector and holds it against light): Well…
Inspector: Yes?
Man: No…I am afraid not.
(Months later…The same man talking over the phone from his office to someone)
Man: Listen, You will give me the money tonight…
Voice over the phone: Tonight? But...I do not have…
Man: I do not care if you have or do not have. I need it and I shall be there tonight to get it from you.
Voice over the phone: But, wait…
Man: I have waited for long. I have the money tonight or you shall be exposed.
Voice over the phone: Please, will you…
(Busy tone)
