  JACQUELINE MILLS

Writer PhotoMy writing experience began during middle school and continued through my college years. Mostly, I wrote poetry, and local history, editing academic newspapers and yearbooks. In college my undergraduate major was English Literature and upon graduation I taught in both Elementary and Secondary Education for five years. My formal credentials include a B.S. in Psychology from Columbia Union College(1975), Master of Education in Educational Psychology, Howard University (1987) and Juris Doctorate - South Texas College of Law, Houston (1987). At the outset of an exciting and significant legal career I practised first as a prosecutor, and later as public defender. Legal experience also includes success as a civil litigator, specializing in personal injury law. At the university level I served as an adjunct law professor for several years.

During the last eight years I have been involved fulltime with feature writing, poetry, photography and television production. Presently involved with writing my memoirs, I am at the same time editing a compilation of my poetry which I hope to illustrate with a selection of my photographs.

An avid gardener and voracious reader, I travel widely. The mood of my poetry is mainly optimistic. I hope and pray that my readers feel the strength of my conviction,-- "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

I aim to continue doing constructive, hopeful and upbeat feature writing. A significant proportion of my features and poems relate to natural phenomena, human experience and spiritual strength.
